saturday!!!!!

hey! today was pretty fun! saturday, haha.
I'm setting myself up to have a longer column
than yesterday, maybe eventually it'll be all
the way across and it'll be like I'm writing
normally O.o hah.

Tonight (paragraphs too!?) was the frisbee
potluck. I went over to jake and sam's apartment
in the junior village (hirise and lorise) and
helped them make this chicken dish with pasta.
I also made some peanut butter cookies from
a bag and brought some bread and chips
and guac which I picked up from weshop.
It was delicious and the guys appreciated
the help. after I hung out in lorise at their
friend's apartment with this guy dan who
brought quiches to the potluck. they were
yum. we sat around, pregamed haha. this guy
I met, steve, explained to me how a bubbler
works, but I still don't exactly get it. I think I
asked jesse once and he gave a better answer,
but he didn't have one to demonstrate with
so it didnt' really sink in. we moved back to
jake/sam's in hirise and hung out. If I wanted
to drink, it would be so easy, there's so much access
to alcohol. and pot. I met this guy who is
apparently the best basketball player at wes.
his name is shah-shah? something like that,
he was cool. talked about some dance teacher
who got mad cause he didn't move like dance
while he was playing basketball. We went to
some guys house and I left jake and sam
and talked with dan, who's nice to talk to,
while me and some other frosh decided to go
to this blacklight party in one of the frat houses.
there was a wait, they control how many people
go in so they don't get in trouble with psafe, and
I talked with this guy Ian who was at frisbee who
thought it was cool I'm from Iowa, haha. At
blacklight party I danced with this one frosh guy
on frisbee team for a song, but that's about it. It was
fun, great music and stuff. I wasn't really dressed
for the blacklight- black t-shirt- but it was alright.
That's how my day went I guess.
Taking note from astrid, I guess I could talk about
why I like it here? That's actually one of the things
I asked dan while we were walking. He gave a good
response, but I don't really remember.
Oh, when I got back to my hall, apparently some girl
in the double is sleeping in a diff girl's room. But the
girl who has the double doesn't seem like the type to
sexile, but I'm not tight enough with my hall to
get that kind of info =/. Oh well. The people on my
hall are cool, but eh, frisbee people are cooler.

Anyways, things I like about wesleyan,
reasons why it's better than high school?
1- I have plants, and I take care of them.  Well, this
is more an extension of having my own dorm room
which is neat. I keep it organized, it's much more
manageable than my room at home because I know
what's inside it and stuff. Also, this is an extension
of me being more responsible and being more
independent. I control things, and if I do it right,
it goes well. If it goes wrong, that kind of sucks.
But I think it's sort of hard to kill the plants, so I'm ok.
2- the people are super nice. I really haven't ran into
anyone who wasn't. everyone's pretty welcoming,
and cool to hang out with. Kui says that people drink
because it changes their personality some, but I'm fine
with myself the way I am? I have fun when I'm not
totally wasted. I don't really want to be one of those girls
who gets really drunk who has a good time, but people
don't really respect in the morning. I'd rather just be the
way I am. I don't want to be like this girl graham is
complaining about because they have to take care of her
all the time cause she drinks too much, that's just lame.
Maybe I'll think more about drinking later.
3- You meet so many new people! I really like wes's
size, because you meet new people, but there's always
more people to meet, but you still run into the people
you already met. so it's not too big, but not too small,
basically. while it's true most people do go out and get
smashed or go light up or something, they're really chill
they usually don't really pressure you. actually, last night and
tonight, I got asked if I had anything to drink. Hmm.
4- there's so much stuff to do! Tomorrow I'm really excited
because I'm going to go make GranolA with local organic
oats, haha. Have to set my alarm, make sure I'm awake.
It's at like 2? I was going to go to sleep early last night and
go to this thing this morning at 10 where you go on a trip
outside of campus to nature places, but I decided sleep was
more important. There's definitely ultimate to do, every day!
and plenty of other things. It's fantastic.

- I could think of more, but I don't really want to right now.
I think this post is getting too long anyways. Yeah, def too long.
I just put in breaks to make it easier to read. I'm having a good time.
Not sure if those reasons really connect as much with high school,
but they're definitely reasons I like it here, and what is sort of on my
mind right now. I want some peanut butter, but I've eaten too much
of it sense I bought it Wednesday night. Astrid is eating peanut butter
too. Downside of college- not enough astrid.
This is not actually how I eat my peanut butter. I thought it'd make a more interesting photo.
Also- notice frisbee hanging from wall in the back!
yum. pb. pb, like jb? look at this fantastic article I found.
